Overview
Social Care Worker: Rathangan, Co. Kildare. Barróg Healthcare is a small, private health and social care provider based in Dublin with services nationwide. We provide residential care and day packages to support people with mental health needs, disability, aftercare and other social care needs. The role is focused on person-centered care and promoting community inclusion and equal citizenship.
Location: Rathangan, Co. Kildare. Salary: €16.00 to €19.86 per hour (drivers). Job Type: Full-time, Permanent. Shifts: 3x12-hour shifts (day, sleepover, and live nights) over Monday to Sunday. Flexibility for shift work is required due to the 24/7 nature of the role.
Key Responsibilities
* Support service users with intellectual and physical disabilities, including autism.
* Help service users understand their environment, learn new skills, and maximise independence.
* Assist with daily living activities and health and personal care, including continence where required.
* Advocate for clients and support participation in care/placement planning.
* Accompany service users to appointments and events; assist those with reduced mobility.
* Contribute to care plans, attend staff meetings, and support care plan progression and implementation.
* Manage challenging behaviours using a positive behaviour support plan.
* Provide reports on client activities to management.
* Undertake other duties as assigned by the direct manager/team leader.
Essential Criteria
* Permission to work in Ireland.
* One year of experience in a healthcare or disability support setting.
* For Social Care Worker role: minimum of a B.A. in Social Care, QQI Level 7, plus CORU registration by Nov 2025, or a sufficiently relevant qualification with CORU registration by Nov 2025.
* Full clean driver's license.
Desirable Criteria
* Experience working in a residential setting.
* Knowledge of regulatory compliance and HIQA standards.
* Experience in report writing and client support plans.

* Ability to support clients respectfully, with goals and needs at the centre.
* Understanding of preventing and managing challenging behaviour.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
* Comfort with information technology and reporting.
