Description
Codec is seeking a Portfolio Manager to join their team.
Key Responsibilities
* Successfully deliver programmes of high complexity, leading by example, being visible and accessible, and setting the tone and pace for the programme.
* Clearly communicate engagement goals and success criteria, and specify required outcomes.
* Set clear priorities and maintain focus on the critical path.
* Establish supportive and effective working relationships with all stakeholders.
* Operate in a contractually compliant manner and ensure the client meets their obligations.
* Establish effective governance and controls.
* Regularly report on programme performance accurately and clearly.
* Understand and safeguard the critical path.
* Anticipate and mitigate risks, resolving issues as they arise.
* Maintain focus on benefits tracking and realization throughout delivery.
* Meet or exceed programme success criteria.
* Take ownership of and lead client and subcontractor engagements, acting as the 'figurehead' for the programme.
* Engage stakeholders, build positive relationships, and communicate effectively to influence outcomes.
* Understand the client’s business case and adapt engagement strategies accordingly.
* Direct and engage the programme team to optimize client satisfaction.
* Role-model Codec values and exemplify leadership qualities.
* Apply team and people management skills to build, shape, and optimize high-performing teams.
* Engage the team, foster trust, and build a positive team culture.
* Coach and guide Senior Project Managers and PMO Leads.
* Influence, organize, and direct the programme team effectively.
* Confront and challenge poor performance and encourage idea contribution from team members.
Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise
* At least 5 years of recent experience delivering complex programmes, utilizing waterfall, agile, and hybrid methods.
* Demonstrate deep commercial, financial, and risk management expertise.
* Have a direct influence on programme profitability.
* Introduce innovation and efficiency in programme delivery, proactively identifying and mitigating avoidable costs.
* Drive successful commercial and financial outcomes.
* Ensure contractual compliance and effective risk management across the programme.
* Apply sound judgment, anticipate opportunities and threats, and take timely, proportionate actions.
