National Account Manager Wanted - FMCG Industry Hybrid role, Office and Field based Dublin based Office From €60k DOE plus bonus and package. Closing Date September 19th Main purpose of the role: The Key Account Manager (FMCG) plays a critical role in driving sales and fostering strong relationships with key clients within the FMCG sector. This role involves managing and expanding the business with key accounts, developing strategies to meet sales targets, and collaborating cross-functionally to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate strong leadership capabilities when it comes to managing internal reporting lines & managing external communications lines i.e. Principle & customer and managing communications with internal stakeholders e.g. finance, logistics, leadership etc Key Responsibilities Relationship Management Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts, understanding their needs, objectives, and challenges. Build and maintain progressive relationships with Client Serve as the primary point of contact for key Client, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and providing exceptional customer service. Conduct regular meetings with Client to review performance, identify opportunities for growth, and address any concerns. Build and maintain progressive relationships with Sales Team Manage & develop commercial account team Sales & Business Development Develop and implement strategies to achieve sales targets and maximize revenue from key accounts. Identify new business opportunities within existing accounts and explore avenues for upselling and cross-selling. Collaborate with internal teams, including sales, marketing, and finance, to develop customized solutions that meet client needs Account Planning & Forecasting Develop & execute account plans outlining sales objectives, strategies, and action plans to achieve targets. Analyse market trends, competitor activities, and customer behavior to anticipate changes and adjust strategies accordingly. Prepare accurate sales forecasts and reports, providing insights into performance and areas for improvement. Distributor P&L responsibility Distributor volume forecast responsibility All aspects of Budgetary management Negotiation & Contract Management Negotiate contracts, pricing, promotional plans, and terms with key accounts, ensuring mutually beneficial agreements. Monitor contract compliance and manage any contractual disputes or issues in collaboration with legal and finance teams Cross Functional Collaboration Collaborate closely with internal teams, commercial and field based to ensure alignment on customer needs, product offerings, and service delivery. Work closely with marketing teams and external Brand owner teams to develop promotional campaigns, product launches, and marketing materials tailored to key accounts. Provide feedback to product development teams based on client requirements and market feedback. Performance Tracking & Analysis Track sales performance against targets, analysing variances and identifying corrective actions. Conduct regular performance reviews with key accounts, evaluating KPIs and identifying areas for improvement. Utilize data analytics and market insights to optimize strategies and drive continuous improvement. A strong capability in Excel and PowerBI will be needed Qualifications and Skills: 3 rd Level qualification or equivalent experience to match role needs. Can do attitude is essential, enthusiastic, and passionate. Proven experience in sales, account management, or business development within the FMCG industry. Strong understanding of FMCG market dynamics, trends, and consumer behaviour. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to build and maintain long-term relationships with key clients. Strategic thinker with analytical and problem-solving abilities. Proficiency in CRM software, Microsoft Office Suite, and sales analytics tools e.g. PowerBI. Results-oriented with a track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
