Health and Safety Officer
We are seeking an experienced Health and Safety Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in health and safety, with experience in implementing and managing systems across multiple sites.
* Job Description: The Health and Safety Officer will be responsible for ensuring the effective implementation of environmental and health & safety systems across a range of busy and technically complex facilities.
* Responsibilities:
1. Develop and maintain HSE policies, procedures and systems in line with ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and relevant legislative frameworks.
2. Conduct site inspections, risk assessments and audits, identifying areas for improvement and implementing effective control measures.
3. Provide day-to-day HSE support to teams across multiple locations, ensuring site and operational compliance with internal and external standards.
4. Lead and manage incident investigations, reporting findings and driving preventive actions.
5. Promote behavioural safety and contribute to continuous improvement across all areas of the business.
6. Deliver toolbox talks, training sessions and inductions to employees and contractors.
7. Monitor and analyse HSE data, producing regular reports and identifying trends.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you will need:
* Experience in an HSE role within a Manufacturing or Engineering environment.
* Relevant Health and Safety qualifications (NEBOSH, etc).
* Working knowledge of current HSE legislation and compliance frameworks.
* Experience implementing and managing Health & Safety systems and practices across multiple sites.
* Full clean UK driving licence with flexibility to travel between sites as required.
Desirable Qualifications
The following qualifications would be advantageous:
* Familiarity with digital HSE management systems and tools.
* Experience with Environmental and Sustainability initiatives (e.g., waste management, carbon footprint reduction).
* Experience in delivering internal HSE training.
