Job Title: Head Coach - Tennis Location: Sandycove Tennis & Squash Club Reports to: Tennis Development Officer Salary: Competitive Salary & Benefits Job Summary: Sandycove is a welcoming and inclusive tennis club dedicated to promoting tennis for all ages and skill levels. We are seeking a motivated and experienced Head Tennis Coach to lead our coaching programme. The Head Coach will be responsible for developing and delivering high-quality coaching to juniors, adults, and competitive players, as well as managing the coaching team. Coaching will be a mix of group lessons arranged through the club and private lessons arranged directly by the Head Coach with club members (junior & senior). The Club wishes to revitalise & grow its coaching regime & strategy, especially for juniors, and we are seeking a Head Coach to lead this development and implementation. We view this as a long-term commitment that is fundamental to the development of the tennis club. The new coach will also enjoy significant administration support covering court bookings/allocations, enrolment of juniors and communications with parents/members allowing him/her to focus more on tennis and less on administration. Applicants will already be a head coach in another club or an assistant coach wishing to advance to a head coach position. Key Responsibilities: Coaching & Programme Delivery - Juniors ? Plan, lead, and deliver a comprehensive year-round coaching program for age groups from 5 to Under 18s. ? Participate & oversee the delivery of this programme by his/herself and the team of assistant coaches & other assistants where needed. ? Monitor & manage the pathways for junior members to ensure their progression through the various levels, providing written feedback to parents at end of term. ? Organize and oversee holiday camps. ? Support competitive squads and manage team selection and match preparation. ? Oversee junior box leagues, including ranking of juniors into relevant boxes Coaching & Programme Delivery - Seniors ? Collaborate with the club Captains to provide structured team coaching in advance of league campaigns throughout the year. ? Introduce innovative programs (cardio tennis, strength & conditioning training etc.). Team & Staff Management ? Lead, mentor, and schedule assistant and junior coaches. ? Ensure coaching staff adhere to safeguarding, health & safety, and club policies. ? Provide ongoing support and development opportunities for coaching staff. ? Provide regular feedback including annual reviews ? Inspire, motivate and develop players of all ages and abilities Club Engagement & Events ? Work closely with the Junior Administrator regarding enrolments, court allocations and communications ? Help promote coaching services and club activities ? Build positive relationships with members & parents, and local partners ? Represent the Club in league competitions Administration, Child Protection & Compliance ? Help ensure a safe and welcoming learning environment. ? Ensure compliance with TI guidelines, safeguarding procedures, and First Aid requirements. ? Work with Junior Administrator to maintain accurate records for safeguarding, attendance and player development. Qualifications & Experience ? Tennis Ireland Level 3 (or higher) Coaching Qualification (or international equivalent) ? Current Garda Vetting, First Aid certificate and Safeguarding training ? Minimum of 5 years coaching experience, ideally in a club setting ? Strong interpersonal and leadership skills Compensation & Benefits ?
