Main Purpose of Role:
Murphy seeks a Senior People Business Partner for a one-year fixed term contract to cover maternity leave in Newbridge, Co. Kildare. This role will report to the Ireland Managing Director and Group People Director as part of the People Leadership Team.
The successful candidate will collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team to ensure performance across Ireland through exceptional people and organisational practices.
Role Duties:
A Day in the Life of a Senior People Business Partner at Murphy:
Lead the People Function for Ireland, managing the People Team consisting of ER, Recruitment, Learning & Development. Partner with Projects to understand their key business performance issues and associated people requirements.
Responsible for planning, designing, and evaluating people-related initiatives that support strategic goals. Collaborate with Managing Directors and Operational Directors to increase team capability and address succession gaps.
Develop innovative solutions for policies, recruitment, retention, performance management, absence management, and other areas. Analyse data and present at monthly board meetings.
Challenge leaders to align behaviours with the Murphy at 75 strategy. Manage complex ER issues, restructures, and redeployment processes.
Provide advice to Directors and support the business unit to meet employee engagement targets and enhance Investors in People accreditation.
Occasional travel to the UK (approx. 4 times a year) and visits to Irish sites are required.
Qualifications & Skills:
Significant HR management experience with a proven track record in developing innovative people management solutions. Strong line management experience and ability to support improvements in employee engagement.
Proven experience in managing employee relations cases and first-hand exposure to HR in a commercially oriented business within the construction/civil-engineering sector (desirable).
A full driving licence with flexibility and willingness to travel occasionally is required.
