A Little More About Your Role

As an Associate EIA Consultant within WSP you will work with a range of technical environmental specialists and design teams across multiple sectors to lead environmental teams and inputs to project designs and assessments. You will be instrumental in improving the environmental performance for a diverse range of projects across multiple sectors. The role would suit an enthusiastic individual looking to influence, lead and deliver environmental elements of engineering projects, within a wide range of sectors including rail, highways, energy and commercial / residential, from feasibility through to planning, detailed design, construction and handover / maintenance. You will have responsibility for leading projects including tasks relating to recruitment, bidding, project team management, project delivery, and financial management.


Responsibilities

* Delivery of Environmental Impact Assessment Reports
* Taking ownership of projects from inception to completion and providing regular project updates to the environment team director and clients
* Project Lead on EIA projects involving multidisciplinary teams
* Technical lead in a discipline related to EIA (e.g., ecology, noise or air quality) benefiting the project
* Preparing planning applications, licences, permits and annual environmental reports (e.g., waste licences)
* Knowledge of the regulatory environment in Ireland including planning and permitting/licensing requirements
* Prioritising projects while balancing client expectations, available staff resources and project deadlines
* Proposal preparation, and identifying follow-on work opportunities with existing clients and developing opportunities to broaden the client base

The Environment team in Ireland is a diverse team of environmental scientists, ecologists, geologists and environmental engineers who work collaboratively on projects. We are delivering projects in the energy, manufacturing, development and mining sectors that have a real impact on Ireland’s sustainability goals. We have a culture of ownership of projects and work as one team with a flat structure. Our office in Naas is centrally located with ample parking and nearby public transport links. The role will offer the successful candidate the opportunity to work on diverse projects with room to grow your career with WSP.


What we will be looking for you to demonstrate

* Have an understanding of EIA and planning laws that affect EIA in Ireland
* A relevant environmental degree level qualification in EIA, or similar
* Demonstrable post-qualified experience of leading environmental assessments on a variety of projects, including large scale infrastructure projects, and across different development sectors, such as rail, energy, housing, highways
* Comprehensive project management skills, including commercial and risk aspects, forecasting, and quality assurance
* Experience in work winning and bid preparation activities
