About The IRC
Huawei Ireland Research Centre (IRC) mission is to position Huawei as a recognized technology leader and a global provider of information and communications technology (ICT) solutions. To achieve this we are building an industry-recognized multi-discipline Research Centre of experts with focus on medium-term to long-term issues. The IRC will work closely with an open innovative ecosystem with Huawei customers to address real-world issues. The IRC will also engage with key European universities to build a basic research capability to support Huawei technical projects.

About The Job
We are seeking a highly skilled Agentic AI Engineer to design, develop, and deploy next-generation AI systems with autonomous, goal-driven capabilities. This role focuses on building digital twin models for AI agents that can reason, plan, act, and interact within complex environment representations- decision-making frameworks, and knowledge graphs to deliver intelligent, adaptive solutions.

Huawei announced Dublin as the location for its new ICT Operation Competence Centre. The Centre will carry out pioneering R&D to lead the Telecom industry digital transformation, providing Agentic AI to support such transformation and new business models.

The newly formed R&D team's mission is to define and drive Digital twin AI Agents. We are offering an AI research internship position on the autonomous network. You will work at the intersection of machine learning and software engineering, enabling real-world applications across telecommunication automation and datacentre storage domains.

Responsibilities

* Assist the team in developing, training, and optimizing machine learning and deep learning models.
* Participate in data preprocessing, feature engineering, and model evaluation to improve accuracy and robustness.
* Support model deployment and testing in real-world business scenarios, and help troubleshoot issues.
* Contribute to research and experimentation on new algorithms and frameworks, exploring the feasibility of cutting-edge AI technologies in practice.
* Assist in writing technical documentation and experiment reports to capture development and research insights.

Requirements

* Current PhD graduate student majoring in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Mathematics, or related fields.
* Familiar with mainstream machine learning and deep learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow).
* Strong programming skills in Python, with experience in common data analysis tools (e.g., NumPy, Pandas, scikit-learn).
* Understanding of AI model training, optimization, and application; prior project or research experience is a plus.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to learn independently and quickly adapt to new technologies.
* Good teamwork and communication skills.

Preferred

* Knowledge of RAG, semantic reasoning, or symbolic AI.
* Contributions to open-source agentic AI frameworks or research publications.
