Social Care Worker - Residential Service
Employer: Western Care (St Francis Residential Service, Service Area 4)
Location: Castlebar, Co. Mayo
At Western Care we aim to provide the most appropriate care in the appropriate setting for the people we support. We are looking to grow and support our team across County Mayo.
Responsibilities
* Deliver high‑quality care for residents, ensuring their safety, dignity and well‑being.
* Support individuals to gain valued social roles and participate in meaningful activities.
* Advocate on behalf of residents to meet their needs, preferences and rights.
* Support the development and review of Individual Care Plans.
* Provide direct care according to a weekly rota (29.66 hours per week).
* Maintain accurate records and comply with HIQA standards and regulations.
* Work collaboratively with families, multidisciplinary teams and external agencies.
Qualifications
* Relevant Level 3 Social Care qualification (level 7 or equivalent) that is eligible for CORU registration.
* Prior experience facilitating or supporting people with high or complex needs.
* Excellent communication skills and teamwork.
* Knowledge of HIQA standards and regulations.
* Good IT skills (preferred).

* Experience in supporting people with high and/or complex needs.
* Genuine interest in empowering residents to achieve positive change.
* Strong listening, advocacy and confidentiality skills.
* Commitment to high‑quality care and continuous improvement.
* Flexibility to meet service demands and respond to rosters.
* Full driver’s license.
* Irish Garda vetting, reference checks and, if applicable, overseas police clearance.
Salary Scale
Social Care Worker Pay Scale: €34,969 - €52,619 per annum (based on 39 hours per week).
