About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Senior Physiotherapist to lead our Respiratory Physiotherapy services in a busy acute hospital. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated professional to take on a leadership role and make a real difference in the lives of patients.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and coordinate high-quality physiotherapy services for patients requiring respiratory care in ICU wards and other settings.
* Deliver comprehensive physiotherapy assessments, treatment plans, and interventions for patients with acute respiratory conditions, including tracheostomy management and critical care rehabilitation.
* Support early mobilisation, discharge planning, and ongoing care through effective treatment and communication.
* Work collaboratively with medical, nursing, and allied health professionals to ensure continuity and quality of care.
* Participate in and lead case conferences, MDT meetings, and ward rounds.
* Supervise junior physiotherapists, students, and physiotherapy assistants, contributing to professional development within the team.
* Document care and maintain accurate records in line with hospital protocols and professional standards.
* Promote and engage in continuous professional development, research, and clinical audit to improve service delivery.
Requirements:
* BSc in Physiotherapy or equivalent qualification.
* Current CORU registration as a Physiotherapist.
* A minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience, including at least 6 months of recent experience in an ICU or respiratory-focused setting.
* Proven ability to manage tracheostomy and complex respiratory patients independently.
* Demonstrated commitment to evidence-based practice and continuing professional development in respiratory care.
* Excellent interpersonal, communication, and team-working skills.
* Strong documentation and clinical reasoning abilities.
