About The RoleBarna Recycling is seeking Yard Operatives to join our team at Cartrontroy, Athlone. This is a hands-on role within a busy waste and recycling facility, supporting day-to-day yard operations while maintaining high standards of safety, efficiency, and customer service and when required weighbridge operations.Key ResponsibilitiesDirect and marshal vehicles safely within the yardAssist customers and contractors with unloading waste materialsOperate as a trained banksman (training provided if required)Maintain clear separation between pedestrian and vehicle movementsCommunicate with the weighbridge, site supervisor, and other operatives via two-way radioEnsure all site rules, SOPs, and traffic management procedures are followedMaintain cleanliness and organisation of the yard and unloading areasMove to designated safe areas during plant or large vehicle movementsCover weighbridge operations as neededProvide excellent customer service to customers, drivers and site visitorsMonitor vehicle movements to prevent congestion and ensure safety in the yardProvide cover to drive teleporter/360 grab (training provided if required)Health & SafetyAdhere strictly to the site Traffic Management Plan and SOPsWear required PPE at all timesChallenge unsafe behaviour and report hazards immediatelyRequirementsPrevious experience in a yard, construction, waste, or industrial environment (preferred but not essential)Strong awareness of health & safetyAbility to work outdoors in a fast-paced environmentExcellent communication skillsWillingness to complete training (e.g. Vehicle Banksman, site induction)Team player with a responsible attitudeBasic computer skills for weighbridge operationsProvide excellent customer service to drivers and site visitorsDesirable (but Not Essential)Banksman or traffic marshal certification360 Grab / Teleporter tickets advantageousExperience working around heavy vehicles or plantWaste or recycling facility experienc
