Engineering Stores OperatorLocation: Site-based (manufacturing environment) - BallydineRole OverviewThe Engineering Stores Operator is responsible for the day-to-day operation of an on-site engineering storeroom within a highly regulated manufacturing environment.The role ensures that engineering, maintenance, and operational teams have timely access to materials while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, stock accuracy, and housekeeping.Our client is a well-established provider of on-site engineering stores and supply chain support services to large-scale manufacturing and industrial facilities. The company specialises in managing engineering and maintenance materials directly on customer sites, ensuring engineers have reliable, timely access to critical parts while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, stock control, and compliance within fast-paced, regulated environments.Key ResponsibilitiesManage daily operations within the engineering storeroom to ensure effective and efficient service to site usersReceive, check, and process all deliveries using the customer ERP system in line with storeroom SOPsDistribute materials to relevant areas and issue parts against maintenance work ordersAssist engineers and maintenance teams in locating and issuing required materialsMaintain accurate records and logbooks, including key issues and high-value itemsCarry out daily cycle counting and provide feedback on stock accuracyMonitor stock levels, identify potential shortages, and flag slow-moving itemsComplete weekly and monthly stock checks as requiredProcess and pack return materials to suppliersMaintain excellent housekeeping and safety standards, ensuring audit readiness at all timesEnsure all activities comply with site health & safety, quality, and operational proceduresComplete all required site training and maintain up-to-date certifications (including forklift licences where applicable)Escalate any day-to-day operational issues to site management when requiredKey Performance Indicators (KPIs)Stock availabilityStock accuracy and cycle counting5S and housekeeping standardsQuality, change control, and expiry date managementCompliance with EHS and quality proceduresExperience & Skills RequiredExperience working in a fast-paced warehouse, stores, or distribution environmentPrevious experience using manual handling equipmentForklift licence(s) - desirableStrong working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel (essential)Experience using ERP systems (desirable)Good understanding of warehousing and inventory control systemsStrong attention to detail and ability to work with structured, detailed informationExcellent communication and numeracy skillsStrong teamwork and collaboration skillsAbility to follow written and verbal instructionsGood awareness of health & safety requirementsPersonal AttributesConscientious and reliableOrganised and methodicalComfortable working in a regulated and audit-driven environmentAble to work effectively under pressure while maintaining accuracyProactive and service-oriented mindset
