Job Title: Transport Supervisor North Dublin
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Transport Supervisor to lead our team at our North Dublin Depot. This key role will play a critical part in the operation of the depot and contribute significantly to the overall growth of the organisation.
The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years' relevant management/supervisory experience in a high volume, technology-driven distribution operation. They should be competent in using IT systems, including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word. Additionally, they should have a good working knowledge of Department of Transport regulations, such as Tachograph legislation and the Working Time Directive.
* Responsibilities include:
1. Ensuring timely and orderly dispatch of all routes for all locations.
2. Monitoring daily driver schedules and reporting on an hourly basis, in terms of routes and appropriate delivery time to control cost, determine level of performance, and meet/exceed customer expectations.
3. Analysing the performance of drivers by accompanying them on their routes, coaching driver on findings, and recommending improvements.
4. Coaching and motivating members of the delivery team in line with performance and absence management processes to ensure concerns are managed appropriately.
5. Analysing trends where appropriate, coaching, and where necessary following the disciplinary processes.
6. Ensuring equipment breakdown and repairs are minimised and reported.
7. Completing and submitting all accident/injury reports to the Transport Manager/Safety Manager as required in line with predefined timelines.
8. Ensuring that drivers minimise damages and delivery shortages through proper loading and delivery techniques.
9. Identifying, coordinating, and delivering as appropriate, the training needs of drivers.
10. Ensuring that company vehicles are properly maintained, cleaned, and safely operated to reduce accidents and enhance the company brand.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Competent in the use of IT systems.
* Good working knowledge of Department of Transport regulations.
* Experience of participation in investigations/disciplinary actions related to incidents/absence/performance.
* Ability to motivate and manage a team to deliver a best-in-class service to internal/external customers.
* Ability to plan and organise your own and your team's work activities in a safe, efficient, and effective manner.
* Ability to analyse, interpret, explain, and present relevant business and industry-specific data.
* Comfortable working in a high-volume, deadline-focused, customer-centric environment.
