The Adelaide Health Foundation is a voluntary independent charitable organisation, based in Tallaght University Hospital, Dublin.
We are focused on advancing and promoting equitable access to healthcare services in Ireland. The three pillars which drive our work are Education, Research and Community.
Having undertaken a full Board Evaluation in 2025 which presented an extremely positive report on our structure and governance (whilst acknowledging a small executive team), we seek a new Board Member with strong governance expertise to help guide and strengthen our organisation as we grow.
Along with joining the Board, you will be a member of the Governance Committee.
We’re looking for someone with hands on experience of delivering good governance in the Charity Sector. You have possibly run an organization, you understand the real-life challenges leaders face and you can help bring sound governance.
What we’re looking for:
Experience as a CEO/senior leader.
Strong understanding of governance in the Irish charity sector and the expectations of the Charities Regulator.
Ability to balance compliance with practical, mission-focused decision-making.
Supportive, thoughtful, and comfortable offering constructive challenge.
Commitment to our mission, values, and good practice in safeguarding and risk management.
What you’ll do:
Guide the Board on governance, compliance, and best practice.
Help ensure our governance structures are effective, proportionate, and aligned with the Charities Governance Code.
Contribute to strategy, risk oversight, and board development.
Time Commitment
AHF Board meets 5 - 6 times per year, both in person and virtually. (Generally Monday @ 5.30pm).
Governance Committee meets approximately 4 times a year.
