Your new role
You will be responsible for the proactive management of a Liability portfolio, ensuring delivery of the planned underwriting result. This role offers full ownership of the underwriting process, covering portfolio management, market-facing underwriting, product development, pricing, and performance monitoring. You will also assess the impact of external market and environmental factors on future actions and forecast results.
Day-to-day responsibilities will include:
* Overseeing renewals on a monthly basis.
* Delivering timely, professional customer service to Brokers.
* Executing policy binding and issuance in line with carrier guidelines.
* Examining and organising policy documentation as required.
* Taking full responsibility for client files and workload.
* Processing and adjusting premiums within the system.
* Providing technical and clerical assistance to underwriting staff and management.
* Expanding the book of business through new client acquisition.
* Reporting regularly on portfolio performance, trends, and progress against plan.
What you’ll need to succeed
* 2–5 years’ underwriting experience in liability lines.
* Proven ability to achieve profit objectives through effective risk selection and pricing.
* Experience handling new business and renewals.
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
* Meticulous attention to detail and proactive problem-solving abilities.
* Strong communication and relationship-building skills with brokers, providers, and internal stakeholders.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
* A CIP qualification or higher would be an advantage.
