The Position.
The BMS Group is seeking an Evaluation Engineer to join our Characterisation Team in the Analog Devices Cork Design Centre.
The person fulfilling this role will work with a team of Evaluation engineers to undertake performance measurements and silicon characterisation on Low Power Wireless System-On-Chip products.
Responsibilities Include.
Definition & Implementation of Measurement Methodologies along with Test Case & Measurement Plan Generation
Development of both the hardware and software elements that constitute the Evaluation platform, this will include,
Embedded S/W Development,
Software for Measurement Control
Instrument Driver Development.
Execution to schedule of the measurement plan with the developed platform.
Afford supervision, mentorship & guidance to junior colleagues with their project contributions.
In addition, the engineer will work closely with the design team in silicon debug, provide inputs on aspects of new product development and provide support as required on new product verification using FPGA platforms and other tools.
It is also envisaged the engineer will provide support to Applications & Product Test Engineering teams in resolving silicon and customer issues throughout the product lifecycle.
Candidate Requirements
The ideal candidate should have Degree in Electronic Engineering with 3+ years' measurement experience, preferably (but not exclusively) in the area of RF & Radio.
Have strong Problem Solving Skills and be capable of working on own initiative.
Be familiar in the use of precision measurement equipment and also be proficient with the measurement techniques and tools required to evaluate IC performance metrics.
Familiarisation with the use of software in measurement control & test instrumentation management.
(Python preferred but prior LabVIEW experience also considered).
Experience in high performance PCB design and layout using industry standard tools such as Allegro or PADS, would be of benefit (but not essential) in this role, combined with the experience of designing, building and testing circuits and modules using standard off the shelf components to aid in the characterisation process.
Having a background or experience in developing & utilising embedded platforms, especially in the area of Low Power Radio would be considered an advantage.
