Pilgrim's Europe is home to some of Ireland's leading chilled food brands, including Denny, Dairygold and Charleville. We are growing our commercial team and are seeking an ambitious, driven, and customer-focused Relief Sales Representative who is ready to make a real impact.
In this role, you will provide absence cover across several established Van Sales routes, ensuring best-in-class service for retailers nationwide. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong sales instincts, a passion for FMCG, and the flexibility to travel across ROI.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver the regional business plan in partnership with your Sales Manager.
* Identify new sales opportunities and provide outstanding service to existing customers.
* Achieve sales, distribution, and promotional targets.
* Maintain full compliance with Pilgrim's Europe policies, Health & Safety standards, and driving legislation.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with key store decision-makers.
* Ensure adequate stock levels across the full product range.
* Drive distribution, availability, and visibility of core products.
* Validate truck stock each morning and manage sale-or-return items within agreed limits.
* Complete all paperwork accurately and on time.
* Account for all stock and cash in your possession.
* Keep company vehicles clean, tidy, and road-safe.
* Provide insights on market trends, competitor activity, and retailer feedback.
* Negotiate and implement store planograms to maximise sales.
* Support promotions, product launches, and training initiatives.
* Act as point of contact when the Sales Manager is unavailable.
* Carry out van accompaniments and support team training as required.
* Undertake additional duties to ensure smooth business operations.
About You
* Experience in an FMCG direct-to-store environment is desirable.
* Full, clean C1 Driver's Licence is essential (CPC card desirable).
* Strong communication, reporting, and interpersonal skills.
* Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Confident in managing stock and reconciling cash.
* Strong sales instinct with the ability to sell a varied product range.
* Competent using Microsoft Office; handheld device experience is an advantage.
* Flexibility to work outside standard hours as required.
* Ideally based in the Midlands, with occasional overnights required.
