Child and Family Support Worker – Wicklow (CHO6)
Contract Type: Part Time Post—30 hours per week.
Salary Scale: €35 070 – €42 440 pro‑rata per annum, subject to LSI increases.
Annual Leave Entitlement: 30 days pro‑rata per annum, proportionally less for less than 12 months of service.
Overview of the Post
The Child and Family Support Worker provides day and evening respite care, either in the community or at the child’s home, nurturing each child’s growth by assisting with mobility, social and emotional development, and personal care where needed. The role includes helping children explore their community, build confidence, and enjoy meaningful social and recreational activities. Responsibilities are tailored to meet each family’s unique needs, strengths, and circumstances, ensuring support, respect, and empowerment.

The successful candidate will have:
FETAC Level 5 Certificate in Social Care or a relevant health‑related area.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience working with children, young people, and families in a professional setting.
Experience providing personal care to children and young people where required.
Ability to promote independence where applicable.
Full clean, manual drivers licence.
Good command of English, written and oral.
Experience working with children with a broad range of disabilities.
Experience working with children who present with behaviours that may challenge.
