We are recruiting for a Site Engineer to join our building team in Galway!
Your mission
* Set out the works and ensure that foremen and operatives clearly understand the information provided
* Review information from drawings, specifications, etc., to ensure clarity for foremen, operatives, and subcontractors
* Test materials as directed by your supervisor/line manager in accordance with relevant specifications
* Conduct quality reviews on site regarding rebar and concrete placement
* Review technical submissions before uploading to the design team to ensure the correct areas of work are addressed
* Oversee concrete testing and results
* Direct subcontractors regarding works to be carried out in some instances
* Prepare technical method statements
* Manage traffic on site, coordinating works within a busy location
* Record all daily activities, relevant information, and occurrences in your site diary
* Pursue your own development and training proactively, completing work-based development programs in a timely manner
* Conduct work safely, report unsafe practices
* Develop and maintain professional relationships with personnel
* Monitor and check setting out instruments and testing equipment
* Maximize profit through good self-management, accuracy, and reducing rework
* Follow directions and attend meetings as required
Who are we looking for?
* A third-level qualification in Engineering
* Proven experience in setting out or working as a Site Engineer
* Experience with main contractors, subcontractors, or surveying firms preferred
* Experience managing traffic for large-scale city centre sites
* Good understanding of Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations
* Excellent communication skills
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Project, PowerPoint, etc.
