The Eyre Square Hotel is currently recruiting an experienced Duty Manager to join our team. The Duty Manager will lead and manage the team to ensure the hotel operates safely, efficiently and effectively at all times, ensuring utmost standards and service excellence while optimizing revenue opportunities. This is a challenging role that involves working in and supporting various departments throughout the hotel.
We are looking for a customer‑focused individual with a keen eye for detail and the ability to support and lead a team. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, outgoing, a clear communicator, flexible and friendly.
Summary of Key Activities
* Work closely with the hotel's management team on the day‑to‑day running of the hotel, with special consideration given to F&B
* Manage all aspects of the hotel while on duty, conducting daily duty manager walks and addressing any issues arising to ensure the hotel facilities are presented well
* Communicate handover daily with the operations management team
* Take a hands‑on approach while on duty in areas where support is needed
* Collaborate with Managers and HR to implement staff training and development
* Drive sales initiatives for the property in conjunction with the in‑house sales team
* Identify revenue/upselling opportunities and implement goals and incentive schemes for the Food & Beverage Team in line with Operations Management
* Provide effective guidance to the team to ensure targets are met and exceeded
* Ensure excellent service is provided to all guests
* Display strong leadership skills and a can‑do attitude at all times
* Implement company operating standards regarding suppliers, service excellence, hotel presentation and customer service
* Review business on the books for the month ahead and continuously on a day‑to‑day basis
* Maintain clear lines of communication throughout departments and ensure teams are aware of daily operations
* Perform any other duties assigned by Hotel Management
Experience and Skills
* Previous experience as a supervisor in the services industry (bar, restaurant or hotel)
* HACCP qualifications are a plus
* Ability to multi‑task and willingness to help where required in all areas of the hotel
* Experience working with hotel front office systems is essential
* Experience in conference & banqueting and events
* Excellent communication and people skills
* Capability to work as part of a team or on own initiative
* Good presentation and attention to detail
* Fluency in the English language, both written and spoken
