Job Title: Commis Chef
This position is for an evening cook/chef, Monday to Friday, with working hours of Monday to Thursday from 4-8pm and Friday from 3-7pm.
Responsibilities
* Responsible for food production in the kitchen, ensuring innovation, variety, and safety in accordance with Food Safety standards.
* Work as part of a team across different catering outlets, including a customer café, restaurant, and hospitality events.
* Prepare menu items, maintain food quality and standards, and minimize wastage in collaboration with the Chef de Partie and Sous Chef.
* Ensure high hygiene and safety standards, report incidents, and assist with post-analysis and checklist completion.
* Participate in training and occasionally perform front or back of house duties as required.
Qualifications
* At least 2 years of experience in a similar food production role within catering or retail.
* Good spoken English skills.
* Ability to work under supervision, take direction, and work independently.
* Motivated, adaptable, flexible, and effective in communication.
* Ability to prioritize tasks, delegate, and maintain records.
* Understanding of basic catering finances such as costing, yields, and wastage.
