Role Overview
We are seeking a seasoned and strategic Director of Business Development to lead our business origination and relationship-building efforts. This is a high-impact role that will shape Renatus' growth trajectory by cultivating meaningful relationships, identifying new investment opportunities, and supporting portfolio company development.
The ideal candidate will be a dynamic connector with deep experience in business development, stakeholder engagement, and strategic networking. You will work closely with the senior deal team, acting as a key ambassador for Renatus across the investment ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
• Strategic Relationship Management:
Build and maintain relationships with corporate financiers, investors, advisors, and key stakeholders across Ireland and the UK.
• Opportunity Origination:
Identify and nurture new business opportunities across a long list of 1,000–2,000 companies, ensuring consistent engagement and pipeline development.
• Talent Acquisition Support:
Source and introduce high-calibre talent—particularly finance directors and commercial leaders into Renatus and its portfolio companies.
• Investor & Ecosystem Engagement:
Liaise with relevant sector stakeholders, including auditors, Enterprise Ireland, and other institutional partners.
• Brand Representation:
Represent Renatus at industry events, conferences, and networking forums, enhancing visibility and positioning the firm as a partner of choice.
• Portfolio Support:
Contribute to B2B sales and talent sourcing initiatives for portfolio companies, supporting their growth and strategic objectives.
• Deal Team Collaboration:
Partner with the senior deal team to foster relationships from initial engagement through to deal completion and post-investment support.
Qualifications & Experience
• Proven track record in business development, ideally within private equity, investment banking, or financial services.
• Demonstrated success in securing high-value partnerships and deals.
• Exceptional relationship-building and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence at senior levels.
• Strategic thinker with strong commercial acumen and a proactive, results-driven mindset.
