Sport Ireland Facilities DAC is seeking a Grounds Maintenance Operative to support the maintenance of our grounds.
This is an ongoing role within our organisation and presents an excellent opportunity for a self-motivated individual to join our team.
Responsibilities
* A good knowledge of playing field pitch maintenance is desirable.
* To be able to determine when grass areas are in need of fertilising outside of scheduled maintenance.
* A very good standard of pitch marking is required.
* A very good knowledge of pitching lining (Cutting) is essential.
* Mow Grass either by hand or using a riding lawnmower.
* Experience driving tractors and familiarity with mowing equipment including pedestrian mowers.
* Cut lawn using hand, power or riding mower and trim and edge around walks, flower beds, and walls.
* Landscape by planting flowers, grass, shrubs, and bushes.
* Shovel snow from walkways and sprinkle ice when required.
* Power Blow / Sweep walkway of debris.
* Cut down tree limbs that are posing a danger.
* Trim shrubs and pull weeds.
* Perform minor repairs and maintenance procedures on equipment utilized in grounds keeping.
* Rake, mulch, and prune the grounds as needed.
* Removal of waste, blowing, vacuuming and collection of grass and foliage clippings.
Requirements
* At least 1 year experience in a grounds maintenance (or related field) role is required.
* A minimum qualification requirement is that the applicant holds a Leaving Certificate or equivalent educational training qualification.
* Desirable Criteria: Keen interest in grounds keeping.
