Project Manager role at Hitachi Energy.
Location: Birmingham, UK (Remote) or Dublin, Ireland (Remote). Travel to other sites as required. Visa support not available.
How You’ll Make an Impact
* Lead project team: define guidelines, allocate tasks, motivate and monitor resources to meet milestones.
* Plan and schedule: joint development of project plan documents, scope, financial, schedule, risk management plans.
* Execute and control: follow best practices and Hitachi policies, monitor progress, control finance, identify and manage risks, capture lessons learned, formally close out projects and contract close‑out.
* Claims and procurement: apply contract and claims management consistently, coordinate with Supply Chain Management, procure services, materials and equipment, support negotiation of claims and project changes.
* Stakeholder relations: key customer contact and escalation point, build strong internal and external relationships and communicate effectively.
* Health, safety and environment (HSE): ensure compliance with company HSE policies.
Your Background
* 2+ years of relevant PM or Electrical contracting experience.
* Excellent organisational and coordination skills; prioritize workload peaks.
* Experience managing faults/warranty claims on an industrial facility.
* Excellent interpersonal skills; engage employees and customers professionally, both in person and via telephone; strong focus on managing customer relationships.
* Good knowledge of project scheduling, planning, estimation, procurement and cost control.
* Experience delivering client‑focused solutions based on customer needs.
* Natural relationship builder with integrity, reliability and maturity.
* Keen attention to detail and adherence to deadlines.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and SAP.
* Ability to delegate, motivate a team, and execute tasks to deadline.
* Knowledge of fundamentals of control and protection systems.
* Self‑motivation, work under pressure, initiative and teamwork.
* Fluent written and spoken English.
* Full driving licence.
Desirable
* Knowledge of high‑voltage AC and DC transmission systems and key components.
* Knowledge of auxiliary systems such as LVAC, pumps, UPS, HVAC, control and protection, SCADA, PLCs.
* Technical qualification in a relevant discipline.
* Previous experience in critical infrastructure is a major plus.
