Job Description
You will be a member of the construction group within the delivery directorate, working as part of a team to deliver logistics, traffic management, constructability and construction planning solutions across the project.
* Lead logistics solutions including proposals for vehicle management systems, standards for access to sites, consolidated logistics facilities, spoil deposition and site/workforce accommodation.
* Develop and implement the overall logistics management process for the project, assuming responsibility for the development of a logistics strategy which shall cover the entire project lifecycle.
* Coordinate with the project and programme management lead in establishing the development and delivery function, providing support in cross-functional integration.
* Support procurement by producing logistics requirements to be included within procurement and contract documents and responding to logistics-related clarifications raised during the tender stage.
* Evaluate tender responses in relation to logistics requirements.
* Share, communicate, and collaborate with stakeholders in implementing the logistics strategy.
* Manage and update the project logistics strategy as necessary throughout the delivery of the project.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you will need:
* At least 5 years' experience in logistics management, leading logistic activities across the project lifecycle through to completion in high-value metro rail or similar projects.
* Tangible experience driving best practice in technical activities, processes, policies, and standards.
* In-depth understanding of design and delivery requirements of technically complex projects in architectural/engineering/construction sectors.
* Experience dealing with various stakeholders, influencing the improvement of processes, and providing guidance to support project delivery and reporting.
* Knowledge of quality management and process improvement practices and systems, preferably within the construction sector.
* Ability to manage technical outputs to drive efficiency.
* Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to govern and drive outcomes to ensure high-quality service.
Education and Certifications
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, or related discipline.
* MSc/MA in engineering, architecture, or related discipline.
* Six Sigma certification.
* Relevant qualifications in supply chain and logistics.
