We are seeking an Early Years Educator with responsibility for providing high-quality care and education for children aged 1–2 years, creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment that supports each child's learning and development.
The role requires flexibility to work with other age groups over time, in line with the needs of the setting.
Key Responsibilities
Childcare & Development
Provide a safe, secure, and caring environment for children at all times.
Plan and deliver age-appropriate activities in line with Aistear & Siolta
Support children's emotional, physical, social, and intellectual development.
Observe, assess, and record children's progress and share updates with parents/carers.
Health & Safety
Follow safeguarding and child protection procedures at all times.
Ensure cleanliness and hygiene standards are maintained.
Carry out risk assessments of the room, equipment, and outdoor areas.
Ensure safe supervision of children during all activities.
Personal Care
Support children with feeding, toileting, and nappy changing.
Promote positive hygiene routines such as handwashing.
Support children's comfort and wellbeing.
Teamwork & Communication
Work closely with colleagues to maintain a positive team environment.
Attend team meetings, training sessions, and supervisions.
Communicate effectively with parents/carers on children's daily routines and progress.
Professional Responsibilities
Maintain accurate records and complete required paperwork.
Support and uphold the nursery's policies and procedures.
Be flexible and willing to work with different age groups as required by the setting.
Person Specification
Level 5, 6, 7 or 8 qualification in Childcare / Early Years
Knowledge of the Aistear framework.
A caring, patient, and reliable approach to work.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Desirable
Paediatric First Aid qualification.
Experience working with children
Safeguarding training.
