Lead Manufacturing Engineer Role Overview
This is an exciting opportunity to take on a challenging and rewarding role in manufacturing engineering. As a Lead Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing the design, development, and implementation of production systems that meet quality, cost, and delivery requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design and implement production systems to deliver products on time, to quality and cost requirements.
* Drive continuous improvement activities in quality, cycle times, process improvement, machine availability, and waste reduction.
* Analyse and improve material usage, downtime, and root cause analysis to resolve problems.
* Develop, implement, and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) for area of responsibility.
Requirements:
To succeed in this role, you will need:
* A minimum of 5 years' relevant experience in a similar environment, i.e. heavy engineering, automotive, or aerospace.
* A relevant Manufacturing/Engineering degree, HND, BTec Professional Level 5 Award, or equivalent NVQ Level 5 qualifications.
* Experience of New Product Introduction, reworking design changes and upgrades through to production.
* Thorough knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes.
* Strong working knowledge of 2D and 3D CAD, planning, and prioritizing activities.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills.
