The Digital and AI Product Strategist will own product excellence across the DMI incubator portfolio. This role sets product standards, governs venture discovery and MVP quality, and ensures that every idea has a credible path to customer value, traction, and spin-out.
It is a portfolio-level leadership role spanning strategy execution, venture validation, and product governance.
Key Responsibilities
Own the product vision, standards, and operating model across all incubated ventures
Define what “good” looks like for:
MVP scope
Act as final product sign-off before ventures progress to next stage
2. Venture Discovery & Validation
Partner with Strategy Lead and Operations to:
Identify high-potential problems worth solving
Pressure-test ideas before engineering investment
Lead early discovery:
Value proposition and use‑case definition
Kill weak ideas early and decisively
3. Product Definition & Oversight
Ensure AI is used appropriately, responsibly, and commercially, not as a novelty
Work closely with tech innovation team to:
Balance model ambition vs. speed to market vs cost
Oversee:
Success metrics and learning loops
Line-manage and mentor Product Leads
Discovery
Roadmapping
Metrics
Build product capability within the incubator over time
Support client proposals and scoping
Requirements gathering
5. External & Executive Interface
Act as the senior product voice with:
Funders and board‑level stakeholders
Lead high‑impact demos and narrative‑driven product storytelling
Represent the incubator externally as a credible AI product authority
Required Experience
10+ years in senior product leadership
Proven experience delivering AI / data‑driven products (ML, GenAI, analytics)
Strong background in:
Cross‑functional leadership (engineering, data, design)
Comfortable operating across:
Ambiguity
Early‑stage, high‑uncertainty environments
Nice to Have
Experience in regulated or complex domains (e.g. health, finance, aviation)
Exposure to venture building, accelerators, or startup environments
