Who we are looking for State Street is seeking a motivated and energetic Privacy Compliance Specialist to assist with the assessment and durable implementation of regulatory changes globally for applicable privacy and data protection laws and regulations, and to assist the Global Data Protection Officer on various privacy compliance matters. The successful candidate will be part of a remote team within the Global Privacy Office, which sits within State Street Corporate Compliance. What you will be responsible for As Privacy Compliance Specialist you will Assess the applicability and impact of new and changing global regulatory obligations arising from privacy and data protection laws and regulations and manage this process within the Privacy Office Monitor implementation projects to help ensure the State Street privacy programme remains aligned with the regulatory environment across jurisdictions Handle Data Subject Rights Requests Assist with preparing management information reports for State Street legal entities and governance committees Track and provide monthly updates on the status of various privacy management functions through the tracking of metrics Assist with the review of evidence to remediate compliance issues Support the personal data incidents process within the Privacy Office, as required Handle special projects as needed What we value These skills will help you succeed in this role Excellent organisational skills with great attention to detail Strong team player with natural communication skills, both written and verbal Self-starter with proactive approach to adapt to shifting priorities and meeting deadlines Ideally familiarity with the three lines of defense model, regulated environments and Information Technology Control Frameworks Education & Preferred Qualifications Bachelors degree in law, information systems, finance or other relevant major 4+ years of privacy / data protection compliance, legal, audit or risk & controls experience Prior compliance, legal, audit or related experience is ideal; alternatively, a desire to transition into a privacy compliance career from an adjacent field such as risk management & internal controls. A relevant certification (CIPP, CIPM) is an advantage Strong Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and SharePoint skills are essential; Archer GRC experience is a plus Full professional proficiency in English is a must; additional languages are highly valued.
