Lead Planner
Dublin, Galway, Limerick (flexible location with hybrid working)
This position would suit a highly experienced and proactive Lead Planner looking to join an expanding Environment & Planning Division within one of Ireland's top consultancies. This senior-level role offers the opportunity to lead complex projects, mentor junior staff, and help shape the strategic direction of planning services within a dynamic, multi-disciplinary consultancy.
What You’ll Do:
* Lead the preparation and review of complex planning applications, EIARs, and PECRs
* Provide strategic planning advice to clients and internal teams across multiple sectors
* Oversee the work of junior planners, providing mentorship and quality review
* Ensure planning deliverables align with project timelines and objectives
* Validate and sign off on application content (forms, notices, drawings)
* Liaise with clients, legal teams, and authorities (e.g., ABP, NPWS, TII)
* Represent clients in consultations, oral hearings, and public events
* Contribute to tender responses and business development initiatives
* Stay current on planning legislation, case law, and industry trends
* Ensure compliance with quality assurance procedures
What You Bring:
* 10+ years’ experience in planning, with a strong record in project leadership
* Chartered Membership of the RTPI or Corporate Membership of the IPI
* Proven ability to lead teams and mentor staff in a multidisciplinary setting
* Strong knowledge of Irish planning legislation, policy, and procedures
* Experience in preparing EIARs and managing planning risk
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Project, and planning-related tools
