Retail Horticulturist
Job Purpose:
Manage the day-to-day operations of the departments to deliver a store that is a destination for service to the local area. Support the activities of the line manager. Combining expertise, creativity, and a commitment to sustainability, help drive the success of the garden center.

Arrabawn Tipperary, Athenry
Responsibilities:
1. Drive profitable sales and achieve KPI monthly/yearly targets.
2. Execute store-specific plans and organize store promotions.
3. Contribute to team meetings to drive the business forward.
4. Support category development and key lines based on market research.
5. Cross-sell products to increase purchase amounts.
6. Maintain accurate inventory and manage stock loss within budget.
7. Ensure effective and timely re-stocking of the store.
8. Provide excellent customer service and handle customer queries professionally.
9. Process payments and manage point of sale inquiries.
10. Maintain high standards of store presentation.
11. Implement effective communication channels within the team.
12. Resolve customer complaints efficiently.
13. Act as a brand ambassador for the company.
14. Use experience and skills to guide and support team members.
15. Conduct competitor visits to identify opportunities.
16. Attend sales conferences for supplier engagement and training.
17. Follow health and safety protocols.
18. Develop leadership capabilities through personal development plans.
19. Be flexible during peak times and support store needs.
20. Engage with other stores to share ideas and support growth.
21. Support organizing themed events and seasonal displays.
22. Ensure proper care and maintenance of plants.
23. Maintain high standards of store display and merchandise effectively.
24. Handle customer complaints responsibly.
Qualifications/Skills:
1. Relevant retail sales experience.
2. Extensive plant knowledge.
3. Understanding of sustainability and current trends.
4. Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
5. Strong customer service focus.
6. Ability to work independently.
7. Advanced computer skills (Microsoft Office and similar systems).
8. Superior product knowledge.
9. Commercial awareness.
10. Positive attitude and focus on customer satisfaction in a fast-paced environment.
