About the Role:
As a Quality, Safety & Practice Development Support Officer, you will support the wider Quality, Safety, and Practice Development (QSPD) function to ensure high standards of care and compliance are maintained across our services.
You will also contribute to the implementation of key quality and safeguarding initiatives, including supporting training activities, policy development, and monitoring systems that strengthen staff awareness and service quality.

Lotus Care specialises in providing Residential & Respite Care to Adults and Children with disabilities. Our goal is to provide the highest standard of care in the highest standard of environments.
Reporting to:
You will work closely with the QSPD Manager, Person in Charge (PICs), and Residential Service Managers (RSMs) to help embed best practice, support regulatory compliance (HIQA standards), and promote continuous improvement across Lotus Care Services
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
* Support the QSPD Manager with service audits, reviews, and action plan follow-ups.
* Assist in maintaining accurate documentation and tracking of quality and safety initiatives.
* Help coordinate policy and procedure updates across services.
* Contribute to internal reporting by gathering data and preparing draft summaries for senior review.
* Provide administrative support to governance and quality meetings.
* Assist in promoting person-centred approaches and monitoring feedback from service users, families, and staff.
* Help maintain the organisation's incident and risk registers, including logging and tracking follow-ups.
* Support training coordination efforts, such as identifying training completion gaps and scheduling & facilitating sessions.
* Participate in on-site visits with the QSPD Manager to observe and record practice development needs.
* Liaise with staff to ensure clear understanding of protocols and offer guidance when required.
* Promote awareness of safeguarding, rights, and safe working practices.
* Attend and minute internal quality meetings or learning forums as required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Requirement:

Qualification and Experience:
* Must hold a relevant QQI level 7 or 8 qualification (e.g. Social Care, Nursing, Health & Safety, Quality Systems, or Healthcare Management).
* Full clean driver's licence.
* Experience working in social care, health services, or disability services.
* Understanding of HIQA regulations and person-centred support models.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Organised, proactive, and able to work independently under guidance.
* High attention to detail and strong IT skills (Microsoft Office, Excel, SharePoint).
* QQI Training qualification.
* Experience with audit or quality systems.
* Familiarity with risk management, safeguarding, or training coordination.
