Design Manager Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a reliable and enthusiastic Design Manager to join a top Civil Contractors team. The successful candidate will work as part of a multi-disciplinary engineering team, bringing water and wastewater infrastructure projects from project brief stage to the detailed design stage and into Construction.
The role involves leading the design team and any appointed consultants in all aspects of the design scope, including preliminary and detailed design of water/wastewater treatment plants and infrastructure based on data provided. Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for designing and managing all aspects of water and wastewater delivery and collection networks and associated civil integration.
The ideal candidate will have minimum 3 years experience working in a similar role in the water and wastewater industry, with strong knowledge of civil and process engineering works such as temporary works, bulk earthworks, tank systems, building works, process units and M&E Installations. A minimum of a Level 8 Honours Degree in Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is required, along with good working knowledge of programme management software such as Microsoft Project.
The candidate must be able to work collaboratively with the client and their representatives, have strong communication skills, and be highly motivated. Full Driving License is also required.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the design team and any appointed consultants in all aspects of the design scope.
* Perform preliminary and detailed design of water/wastewater treatment plants and infrastructure based on data provided.
* Design and manage all aspects of water and wastewater delivery and collection networks and associated civil integration.
* Work closely and collaboratively with all key stakeholders including clients, client representatives and third-party agencies.
* Project tracking through commercial reporting, progress updates and programme management.
Requirements:
* Minimum of 3 years experience working in a similar role in the water and wastewater industry.
* Strong knowledge of civil and process engineering works such as temporary works, bulk earthworks, tank systems, building works, process units and M&E Installations.
* Minimum of a Level 8 Honours Degree in Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
