Job Description
Orchard Community Care are looking for empathetic, motivated and caring Social Care Workers/Residential Care Workers, to work in our residential services in Counties: Sligo, Leitrim, Roscommon, Mayo, Galway, Longford, Limerick, Kerry, Waterford, Carlow and Laois. Orchard Community Care has a number of opportunities for permanent – full time Social Care Workers/Residential Care Workers. Working on a shift rota, you will engage in daily activities and routines of the services, providing dedicated direct support to the people we care for as well as contributing to their development, health and wellbeing. Minimum guaranteed contracted hours per week: 39, up to 48 hours on average. Roosters include 12 & 24 hour shifts. Minimum hourly rate of pay: €16.77 per hour. Our residential services support children and adults with significant and complex needs. Working with families and the community, we support our young people to build their independence and resilience. Working hours will include days, nights and weekends.
Essential Requirements
Candidates must hold a Level 7 or above in a relevant area: e.g. Social Care, Social Science, Psychology, Education, Youth & Community etc.
Full Manual driving licence with eligibility to drive in Ireland.
Have full eligibility and availability to work with us without restriction.
Minimum 5 years relevant work experience.
Responsibilities
Be accountable for supporting the day to day running of the service and responsible for the execution and delivery of person‑centred approach.
Under the general supervision of the line manager, ensure that the people we support personal plan is completed in line with regulations and standards provided.
Be committed to pro‑actively supporting the people we support in their daily lives and choices.
Ensure that all files are in line and ready for HIQA Inspection at any given time.
Engage with families, clinicians and building links in the community.
Experience implementing positive support programmes.
