Assistant Product Technologist – Footwear
My client, a leading international fashion retailer, is seeking an Assistant Product Technologist – Footwear to join their Quality Assurance team. This role supports the delivery of safe, compliant, and commercially sound footwear products in line with Primark Quality Assurance Standards. Dublin-based, permanent position.

Responsibilities of this Assistant Product Technologist – Footwear include:
6. Support product development and ensure samples follow best practice processes and timelines.
7. Assess product quality and testing requirements, escalating risks around fit, materials, and components.
8. Coordinate testing submissions and reporting by supplier, product area, and product type.
9. Investigate Gold Seal rejections and quality incidents, ensuring clear actions and communication to Buying and suppliers.
10. Monitor returns and customer feedback to identify recurring issues and support corrective action plans.
11. Build competitor awareness to benchmark quality, fit, and performance.
12. Partner with Compliance to ensure standards and labelling meet legal and industry requirements for value / volume retail.
13. Support risk assessment for pre-shipment and CFS inspection, with guidance from the Product Technologist.
14. Liaise with suppliers on technical queries and help drive improvement plans and quality capability.
15. Support training and engagement with Buying teams and suppliers, including QA manual updates and Quality Academy content.
Responsibilities of this Assistant Product Technologist – Footwear include:
16. Knowledge or exposure to QA, product testing, and compliance within retail, ideally footwear.
17. Commercial awareness and ability to balance quality, cost, and speed to market.
18. Confident communicator, able to work with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
19. Strong attention to detail, organisation skills, and comfort working with reports and tech packs.
20. Proactive, solutions-driven approach with the judgement to escalate when needed.
21. Keen to learn, develop, and build a long-term career in Product Technology / Quality Assurance.
