We are looking for an experienced Mechanic to join our depot operations team on a full-time basis. This is a mobile role without a fixed workshop base; however, the position will predominantly support our Lusk Depot in Co. Dublin.
Responsibilities
Perform high-quality diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance on all vehicles and equipment.
Inspect vehicles and address issues reported through daily driver checks, ensuring all defects—routine and non-routine—are resolved to manufacturer and company standards.
Attend local or on-site breakdowns, quickly identifying issues and restoring equipment to service.
Keep accurate records of all maintenance, repairs, and servicing carried out.
Maintain a tidy, safe, and well-organized working environment within the depot.
Identify potential safety hazards and take proactive action to address them.
Work in accordance with all health, safety, environmental, RSA, and company compliance requirements.
Participate in the company's Integrated Management System (IMS).
Communicate effectively with the transport team to ensure vehicle readiness for scheduled operations.
Provide technical guidance and support to apprentices and fellow technicians.
Candidate Profile
At least 4 years' experience in a similar mechanical, transport, or depot maintenance environment.
A National Craft Certificate in Heavy Vehicle Mechanics (SOLAS), Advanced Craft Certificate (FETAC Level 6), or an equivalent qualification is preferred but not required.
A full Irish Category B driving licence is essential.
A Category C or CE licence is advantageous.
Willingness to work on-call and handle urgent maintenance when required.
Must be legally permitted to work in Ireland.
Strong communication skills with good written and spoken English.
