Our team is growing, and we are now seeking a motivated HSEQ Manager to join our Health and Safety department in Castleblayney, Co. Monaghan.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and maintain the company Integrated Management System in compliance with the ISO Standards.
Act as a key advisor to management, supervisors, and installers on health and safety matters.
Act as the primary point of contact for key clients for matters relating to HSEQ, carry out joint site audits with key clients.
Manage a team of HSEQ professionals to achieve the organisations goals and meet targets set out in the departments work plan.
Promote HSEQ standards within the organisation at all levels and assist with the development of a positive culture in the company.
Prepare, review, and update, HSEQ documentation including Risk Assessments, Method Statements (RAMS) & Construction Stage Safety Plans (where applicable)
Ensure compliance with Health and Safety Legislation & associated Codes of Practice.
Conduct site inspections, audits, and toolbox talks for solar PV, One Stop Shop, EERP and heat pump installations.
Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, producing reports and corrective actions.
Monitor subcontractor safety performance and ensure competency and insurance compliance.
Manage the company Subcontractor onboarding programme.
Promote environmentally responsible practices on site, including waste segregation and spill prevention.
Track and report on environmental KPIs (waste, energy use, incidents).
Manage non-conformances, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Identify HSEQ training needs and maintain accurate training records. Deliver or training including inductions and Safety Briefings as required.
Ensure installers and subcontractors hold appropriate certifications (e.g. Safe Electric, refrigerant handling).
Issue and record the company PPE register and ensure that all site personnel have the required PPE.
Prepare monthly HSEQ reports for senior management.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential
Degree or diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Management, Engineering, or related field.
Minimum 3–5 years' HSEQ management experience, preferably in construction, renewables, or M&E installations.
Strong knowledge of Irish health & safety legislation and construction practices.
Experience with audits, inspections, and regulatory compliance.
Desirable
ISO 9001 / 14001 / 45001 lead or internal auditor qualification.
Knowledge of construction and / or the renewables industry.
