As Sonographer, your duties mainly include performing obstetric, gynaecological, and general ultrasounds independently. Qualifications and Requirements
* Degree in Radiography or equivalent, with a minimum of 4 years’ experience in sonography.
* Mammography experience desirable.
* DEXA experience desirable.
Role Responsibilities
* Ensure a high standard of patient care is maintained.
* Carry out regular audits in the department to aid quality improvement initiatives.
* Undertake primary responsibility for the day-to-day running of the scheduled list, including vetting, imaging, and reporting equipment faults. Lead in the provision of a radiography service in a professional manner.
* Allocate workload to facilitate efficient workflow and maintenance of service user throughput.
* Ensure adherence to the principles of radiation protection, namely justification, optimisation (ALARA), and dose constraints/limits.
* Report any malfunction or defects in equipment to the Radiology Services Manager or deputy.
* Support the Radiology Services Manager in implementing initiatives aimed at improving and developing the service.
