I&C Engineer for Biopharmaceutical Project
We are seeking an experienced Instrumentation and Control (I&C) Engineer to join our team on a 12-month contract. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing reliable and robust instrumentation and control systems hardware for process automation.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design engineer for instrumentation and control systems hardware, including field devices, instrumentation, control panels, and industrial human-machine interfaces (HMIs).
* Review I&C scope for upgrade projects and capital projects with the project management team.
* Redline I&C drawings, prepare I&C scope of work for contractors, and create I&C bills of materials.
* Attend control panel and equipment factory acceptance tests (FAT), review contractor installation, and complete material walks.
* Coordinate instrument loop checks and ensure design and project work is completed in compliance with regulatory requirements, including cGMP, EHS, and global engineering directives.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
* At least 5 years of experience providing instrumentation and control systems hardware solutions to manufacturing organizations in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industries.
* Experience in designing control system network architectures for process automation systems and building automation systems for biotechnology facilities.
* Knowledge of safety requirements for control panel design, such as Arc Flash, and experience in designing and installing bus networks and classic I/O systems.
* Understanding of engineering documentation, including P&IDs, process flow diagrams, and standard operating procedures.
* Knowledge of cGMP regulations, particularly as they apply to biologics manufacturing, and experience with vendor-packaged automation equipment, including Rockwell and Siemens PLC platforms.
