Engine Room Artificer Maintenance Engineer Technician Role
The Naval Service is seeking highly skilled and experienced maintenance engineers and technicians to join as direct entry engine room artificers (ERAs). This role is a great opportunity for those who want to work in a dynamic and challenging environment, maintaining and repairing critical onboard systems.
As an ERA, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of propulsion, power generation, and auxiliary machinery on board our vessels. Your duties will include preventative maintenance, fault diagnosis, and participation in emergency response operations at sea.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Citizenship: Irish citizen or legally entitled to work in Ireland
* Character & Fitness: Must meet medical, physical, and security clearance standards
* Age: 18–39 years on the date of application
* Qualifications: HETAC Level 7 in Marine or Mechanical Engineering, QQI Advanced Certificate Craft in Mechanical Automation & Maintenance Fitting, Diesel Fitting, Motor Mechanics, Department of Marine & Natural Resources Engineer Officer of the Watch (EOOW) Certificate of Competency
