Electric Power Systems Technician

Job Description:
Perform routine inspections, readings, and maintenance operations. Help and oversee subcontractors with maintenance projects. Perform minor maintenance and repairs related to established services. Maintain and repair building fabric as needed. Effectively handle service enquiries generated by the help desk. Support and improve service delivery by utilising site systems and equipment efficiently and according to best practices. Draft method statements and risk analyses as required. Through audits and prompt part purchase, maintain and assess stock levels and spare parts requirements. Assess personal risks associated with maintenance and repair tasks. Complete service reports and enter data into the CMMS system. Ensure every task is completed safely and in compliance with client procedures.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
1. Recognised electrical trade certification
2. Solid understanding of electrical regulations and standards, including systems such as fire alarms, access control, building management systems (BMS), HVAC, and refrigeration
3. Broad knowledge of general building maintenance, with a focus on mechanical systems
4. Proven experience working with electrical supply and distribution systems, including low, medium, and high voltage
5. Formal training in low and high voltage systems, ideally to a City & Guilds or equivalent standard
6. Practical experience in LV and HV switching operations is highly desirable.
7. Familiarity with thermographic inspection techniques
8. Competence in portable appliance testing (PAT)
9. Training in permit-to-work systems and safety protocols
