Mack Engineering is a dynamic and growing steel fabrication business, specialising in bespoke structural steel projects. We operate to the highest industry standards, including EN 1090, and are now seeking a Responsible Welding Coordinator (RWC) to oversee welding quality and ensure compliance across all projects.

This is a key technical role within our production team. As RWC, you will be responsible for maintaining welding procedures, ensuring compliance with EN 1090 standards, and supporting welders on the floor with quality and inspection requirements. You will also manage ordering of materials and consumables, along with monitoring and controlling stock levels for efficient day-to-day operations.

* Ensure welding operations comply with EN 1090 and internal quality procedures
* Maintain and update Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and welder qualifications
* Conduct weld inspections, prepare records, and support quality documentation
* Work with production and design teams to review drawings and welding details
* Order steel, consumables, and workshop materials in line with project needs
* Monitor and manage stock levels, ensuring adequate supply without overstocking
* Coordinate deliveries and work closely with suppliers to ensure timelines are met
* Support workshop staff in resolving technical welding issues where needed

Role Overview

This is a key technical role within our production team. As RWC, you will be responsible for maintaining welding procedures, ensuring compliance with EN 1090 standards, and supporting welders on the floor with quality and inspection requirements. You will also manage ordering of materials and consumables, along with monitoring and controlling stock levels for efficient day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities
* Ensure welding operations comply with EN 1090 and internal quality procedures
* Maintain and update Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and welder qualifications
* Conduct weld inspections, prepare records, and support quality documentation
* Work with production and design teams to review drawings and welding details
* Order steel, consumables, and workshop materials in line with project needs
* Monitor and manage stock levels, ensuring adequate supply without overstocking
* Coordinate deliveries and work closely with suppliers to ensure timelines are met
* Support workshop staff in resolving technical welding issues where needed
Requirements
* Minimum 3+ years’ experience in steel fabrication or welding coordination
* Certified or qualified as RWC under EN 1090 (or working towards)
* Strong knowledge of welding processes (MMA, MIG/MAG, TIG)
* Familiar with steel material grades and certification documentation
* Experience with stock control and ordering systems (manual or software)
* Excellent organisational and communication skills
* Attention to detail and commitment to quality
