Calling DJs, Dance Facilitators and Designers – Are you interested in creating a collective to deliver neuro-friendly club nights in Dublin?
About the project
NeuroNights is a capacity building programme for neurodivergent artists who are interested in creating neuro-friendly club spaces.
Participants will take part in a series of workshops led by experienced facilitators and will go on to deliver 3 club nights at Project Arts Centre in ****.
The training and mentorship programme will run over 3 days between 5th March and 9th May ****, with club nights on 21st May, 2nd July (exact date tbc) and 5th November.
Workshops will take place in person in Dublin city centre.
This is a paid opportunity for programme participants.
A fee of €**** is available to each participant.
Fees are inclusive of travel costs and all other expenses.
The NeuroNights initiative aims to:
create safe and welcoming, artist-led club spaces
develop regular neuro-friendly club nights in Dublin
create a collective of artists who are experienced in producing inclusive club nights
What's involved?
Neurodivergent Artists, Producers and Facilitators will take part in a workshop programme to develop capacity in designing events which are inclusive and neuro-friendly.
They will select whether they want to specialise in:
DJ-ing
Designing for live events
Dance faciliation / event hosting
Training / mentoring will be provided to the selected team.
Through the workshops, the participants will co-design a series of 3 club nights
Workshops will take place in Dublin city centre at Project Arts Centre and at DanceHouse.
It is expected that the participants will work together as a team to deliver the three club nights, with some planning sessions leading up to each night.
Project Arts Centre and Dublin Dance Festival will also support the team with delivery of the club nights in a number of different ways.
We hope that this initiative will result in participants continuing to work as a team to collaborate with other organisations and venues to deliver regular neuro-friendly club nights nationally.
Key dates
Applicants should be available to attend workshops on the following dates and will carry out research and attend mentoring sessions between workshops:
Wed 11th March:Workshop 1 (Project Arts Centre)
1pm – 5pm
Thurs 2nd April:Workshop 2 (Project Arts Centre)
1pm – 5pm
Sat 9th May:Workshop 3 (Samuel Beckett Theatre)
1pm – 5pm
Mon 30th Nov:Evaluation & planning session (Project Arts Centre)
1pm – 5pm
It is essential that applicants are available for the following dates (daytime and evening) to deliver club nights for a public audience:
21st May ****
2nd OR 9th July **** (exact date TBC)
5th November ****
Applicants must be available forall dates listed.
Who can apply
This opportunity is forneurodivergent artists and producerswho have some experience in one of the following areas:
DJ-ing
Designing for live events (to include set, lighting, and costume elements)
Dance or Event Facilitation
A total of 6 DJs, 3 Designers and 3 Dance Facilitators will be selected to participate.
Artists must be based on the island of Ireland and must be available to attend workshops in person in Dublin city centre on the dates listed above.
Applicants do not need to have any previous experience producing club nights.

Application Dates and Next Steps
Deadline for submission: Wednesday 18th February ****, 5pm
Interviews for shortlisted candidates will be held on Monday 23rd February ****
Interviews will be short and conversational.
We just want to get a sense of who you are and your creative interests.
The questions for the interview will be shared with selected candidates in advance
All participants will be notified of the outcome of their application on Wednesday 25th February ****.
Successful applicants will receive a short letter of agreement to confirm that they are available for workshop and event dates.
This programme is presented by Dublin Dance Festival and Project Arts Centre, andkindly supported by the ESB Energy for Generations Fund.
