Health and Safety Manager – Limerick
A leading manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Health and Safety Manager to join its team in Limerick on a full-time, permanent basis.
This key leadership role is responsible for driving a strong safety culture across a complex industrial site. The position reports directly to the Plant Manager and plays a central role in ensuring full compliance with all health, safety, and welfare standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and promote safety awareness, engagement, and continuous improvement across the site.
* Monitor compliance through regular safety audits and inspections.
* Advise management on actions to minimise occupational risks.
* Maintain and report on safety KPIs and performance metrics.
* Develop and implement accident reduction and prevention programmes.
* Create and deliver annual safety initiatives and training programmes.
* Investigate incidents and oversee corrective and preventive actions.
* Ensure compliance with company life‑saving rules and external regulatory requirements.
* Liaise with external agencies (e.g. HSA) and internal stakeholders on all safety matters.
* Manage site inductions for employees, contractors, and visitors.
* Coordinate statutory inspections and maintain relevant documentation.
What You’ll Bring
* Degree in a relevant discipline plus a recognised Health & Safety qualification or diploma.
* Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar H&S management role within manufacturing, quarrying, or heavy industry.
* Strong understanding of industrial processes and safety systems.
* Proven experience with ISO 45001 implementation and auditing.
* Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
* Confident IT user with strong reporting and presentation skills.
