**Airport IT Support Role Opportunity**
This is a role in airport operations that involves IT support for various systems, including baggage handling, car park systems, retail POS and CCTV.
As an entry-level Desktop Support Engineer, you will have the opportunity to gain experience in supporting a wide variety of airport systems while building new skills along the way.
Key responsibilities include:
* Providing deskside support for desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals from installation to break/fix.
* Acting as on-site Smart Hands for network and server teams, following procedures to assist with hardware, cabling, and rack work.
* Following instructions for desktop application installation and troubleshooting.
* Desk-side support and PC break/fix; basic Windows OS administration.
* Supporting antivirus/anti-spyware software installs and issues.
* Basic iOS/Android configuration & troubleshooting.
* Assisting with OS/software deployments via MSCM, WDS, MDM following procedures and escalating complex failures.
* Performing password resets, account unlocks, and group membership updates.
* Assisting with access permissions; escalating complex issues.
* Troubleshooting simple LAN/WAN connectivity issues.
* Performing basic Wi-Fi diagnostics (ping, ipconfig, Wi-Fi analyser).
* Developing and learning airport-specific systems such as Car Park Management, Hold Baggage System, Baggage Identification & Weighing, CCTV, IP Telephony, POS Retail Systems, Reservations Systems, Airport Lighting & Management Systems.
Required skills and qualifications include:
* 2-3 years IT support experience (hardware/software troubleshooting).
* CompTIA A+ or equivalent certification (or willingness to gain during employment).
* Basic familiarity with TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and RDP.
* Clear, confident communication skills (C1 English).
* Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and follow security/compliance requirements.
* Essential: Valid right to work in Ireland and 5 years continuous work/education history for airside clearance.
* Desirable (can learn): Database basics (Microsoft SQL, Oracle), IP PABX phone systems, Cisco certifications, audio-visual system support.
