The Opportunity
The Warehouse Operations Manager will oversee all day-to-day activities within a fast-paced, GDP/GMP-regulated environment, ensuring the efficient and compliant distribution of critical medical equipment and supplies.
The role will lead a team of five, managing recruitment, training, development and performance while driving continuous improvement across warehouse operations.
This key leadership role supports the wider business through effective cross-functional collaboration, strict adherence to regulatory standards and a relentless commitment to operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
– Manage daily warehouse operations, including goods-in, storage, order picking, packing and dispatch of medical and pharmaceutical products; ensure all activities meet GDP/GMP, regulatory, and internal quality standards; continuously assess workflow and identify opportunities to improve processes, productivity and operational efficiency.
Inventory & Compliance
– Oversee stock accuracy through cycle counting, reconciliation and inventory optimisation; maintain warehouse equipment in line with manufacturer guidelines and regulatory expectations; maintain a clean, organised and safe warehouse environment in compliance with health and safety standards.
People Management
– Lead, manage and develop a team of five warehouse operatives; oversee full employee lifecycle activities including recruitment, onboarding, training, absence management and performance management; recognise and celebrate individual and team achievements, helping to maintain a positive and high-performing culture.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
– Work closely with logistics, procurement and customer service teams to schedule deliveries and resolve supply chain issues; partner with Quality & Regulatory teams to ensure full compliance with GDP/GMP standards and internal SOPs; liaise with suppliers, customers and service providers as required.
Experience & Profile Requirements
Minimum 5 years' experience in a Warehouse Manager or Senior Warehouse Operations role, ideally within a regulated or pharmaceutical environment.
Strong understanding of GDP, GMP, GXP or similar regulated frameworks.
Third-level qualification in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations Management or a related discipline preferred.
Proven experience in people management, with the ability to lead, mentor and develop teams.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships internally and externally.
Strong organisational, analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Proactive, driven and focused on continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Experience with SAP highly desirable.
Proficiency in stock management systems (e.g. Sage) and strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
