Overview
Senior Process Engineer (Vision, PLC, Automation) – Location: Athenry, County Galway, Ireland.
What makes you successful
Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline, and a minimum of 5-8 years related experience or Master's degree and 2-5 years equivalent industry experience or a PhD and 0-2 years of experience.
You have a strong background in implementing and supporting controls systems, HMI's, sensor technology, servo drive technology, and machine vision systems into automated manufacturing equipment.
High volume manufacturing highly desired.
You have experience in medical device manufacturing highly desired.
You have experience supporting the qualification/validation of automated manufacturing equipment highly desired.
You have experience programming or interfacing with robotic systems desired.
You have the ability to adapt to fast moving and changing environments.
You have experience using and developing complex automated systems on Allen Bradley PLC controls platform.
You have excellent technical problem solving and risk management skills.
You have a strong understanding of risk management policies and procedures associated with medical device manufacturing highly desired.
You are detail oriented with ability to multi-task and maintain a strong focus on quality and accuracy.
You have strong technical leadership and collaborative skills required.
You have strong interpersonal and communications skills, both verbal and written.
You have the ability to travel to other supplier and/or manufacturing sites, if necessary.
You have six Sigma training and Belt certification highly desired.

Responsibilities
Provide technical knowledge and leadership in controls, sensor technologies, and various inspection systems used in the development and implementation of automated manufacturing lines (internally and at contract manufacturers).
Lead and support the improvement, installation, start-up, validation, and transfer of automated manufacturing equipment related to machine controls (hardware/software), sensors, and machine vision.
Assess efficacy, robustness, and reliability of controls, sensor, and inspection hardware/software solutions and propose improvements to meet reliability, capacity, and quality targets.
Coach and mentor junior controls engineers.
Oversee the resolution of technical issues related to controls, machine vision, servo systems, and sensor technologies used in automated manufacturing and test equipment.
Provide technical input into the design of new automation equipment to drive effective solutions.
Manage multiple automated manufacturing equipment projects simultaneously.
Generate or update equipment/automation documentation (user requirements, functional specs, trace matrices, acceptance testing, qualification, and training documentation) ensuring compliance with Dexcom's quality systems.
Identify potential risks, assess impact, and develop/implement mitigations.
Drive the implementation of Six Sigma methodology within the team.
Travel
Up to 10% travel may be required.
