Permanent – Hybrid Model (Dublin City Center)
Role Description
My client is seeking a Senior Cloud Solutions Developer to lead the creation of a technology framework and provide technical leadership in cloud computing and automation, focusing on designing systems and services on cloud platforms.
The candidate should have a strong development background and experience in building large-scale n-tier systems, working in an Agile Continuous Integration environment.
The role requires leadership experience and a focus on quality implementation.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience working with software development teams, developing Java web services and Spring components, with a track record of high-quality delivery.
They will work closely with the Head of Software Engineering, providing direction and mentorship to teams.
Responsibilities:
Implement scalable solutions according to best practices
Port existing applications to microservices architecture
Support and upskill existing resources, develop prototypes
Work within a Scrum team using Agile practices
Contribute to strategic directions for technologies and frameworks
Mentor and guide team members
Key Strengths:
Designing and building n-tier systems
Experience with Java, Spring, Spring Boot
Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, etc.)
Knowledge of CI/CD principles
Experience in test-driven development and CI pipelines
Testing code quality and implementing quality gates
Leading development of complex software systems
Experience with distributed systems, SOA, relational databases
7+ years Java programming
Proficiency in Java Full Stack Technologies
Knowledge of Spring, Spring Boot, Java EE
Unit and Integration testing (JUnit, Mocking)
Web services (SOAP, REST)
GIT, Maven, Jenkins
Understanding of System Architectures, DevOps, Agile practices
Strong strategic thinking, collaboration, communication skills
Excellent problem-solving and initiative
Team player, detail-oriented, self-starter
Fluent in English
Necessary Qualifications / Skills:
Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar role
Honours degree in a related discipline
Desired Skills & Experience:
Knowledge of insurance or financial services applications
Experience with Broker IT / Broker portal solutions
Knowledge of Angular, npm, TypeScript, HTML, CSS
Experience with JIRA/Confluence
Working knowledge of German language
Networking & Communication Protocols: DNS, TCP/IP, UDP, HTTP/HTTPS, SSL, FTP, SCP, SOAP, REST
