Arts & Creative Charter for Older People
The
Arts & Creative Charter for Older People
seeks to enhance and extend arts experiences for older people and to support arts organisations in their work with older audiences and arts participants. It provides a framework for inclusion, accessibility, and meaningful engagement.
Purpose of the Role
The Charter Engagement Coordinator will support the rollout of the Arts & Creative Charter for Older People by working closely with key stakeholders to:
· Improve access and inclusion for older people in arts programming.
· Support organisations in adopting and implementing the Charter.
· Coordinate Charter promotional materials and resources, in preparation for the eventual national launch.
Key Responsibilities
1. Coordinate meetings with the wider arts and ageing sector as relevant.
2. Collaborate with the staff of participating organisations to align the Charter with existing diversity and inclusion strategies.
3. Support participating organisations in completing the Charter Checklist.
4. Simplify and update Charter resource materials.
5. Coordinate the production of Charter videos.
6. Coordinate the production of a Phase 2 funding proposal (the Charter launch).
7. Liaise between Age & Opportunity and members of the
National Creative Arts & Health Working Group (NCAHWG)
– including the Arts Council, HSE, Creative Ireland Programme, and Department of Health – to ensure strategic alignment.
Timeline
January – February 2026
· Charter Engagement Coordinator selected and onboarded.
· Meetings with key stakeholders and target organisations.
· Charter resources reviewed and developed.
February – March 2026
· Completion of and reporting on any outstanding activity.
· Submission of
Phase 2 proposal
, linked to the launch and national rollout of the Charter in conjunction with participating organisations.

Funding for Phase 2 is not guaranteed
Budget
· Up to €8,000
· For approx. 2-3 days/week over 2.5 months (January – March 2026)
