Communications Executive and Performance Support | Ex-Irish International Athlete | MSc (Hons) Strategic Management
Canoeing Ireland is seeking a motivated and creative Communications Officer to join our team in 2025. This diverse role involves creating and managing content across social media platforms, supporting day-to-day marketing tasks, and providing media coverage for key paddle sport events. Some weekend work will be required during busy periods. The ability to work independently, strong communication skills, and an eye for engaging content are essential. Familiarity with paddle sport is a plus but not required. The Communications Officer will work closely with the Communications Executive, providing excellent opportunities to learn and grow in the area of digital marketing.

Duties
* Content creation. Creating posters/ graphics/ photos for Canoeing Ireland social media
* WordPress management/ similar content management platform. Updating Canoe.ie content
* Assist in bringing the Canoeing Ireland website up to Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1 AA standard.
* Media liaising. Writing and distributing press releases on various Irish Team performances
* Social media management. Managing Canoeing Ireland social media channels appropriately
* Facebook
* Instagram
* Twitter
* YouTube
* TikTok
* Creation and management of social media content calendars
* Creation of specific event/ programme marketing campaigns
* Engaging with stakeholders to keep them updated on Canoeing Ireland athletes and events.
* Video production. Event highlight videos
Skill requirements
* Digital design/ content creation. Use of the Adobe Creative suite.
* Experience with WordPress or similar content management platform
* Strong interpersonal communication skills
